Am I really going to notice a difference if I were to purchase a sandisk ultra ii 512 versus a regular one for a G5?

I have one of each, and I can't tell any difference at all as far as performance in the camera. I use a USB 2.0 reader to transfer my pictures to the computer and the Ultra is noticeably faster in this regard, but other than that there isn't a difference that I can tell.
I've shot in continuous mode in all the different formats and I couldn't tell a difference in the time it took to clear the buffer. If you do decide to buy an Ultra I have one I'll sell ya

I'm using a Hitachi 2Gb microdrive - I haven't had it ( or my G5) very long, and I know you have to treat them nice, but I've been very happy with it so far...speed is way better than my 16x CF card and >400 RAW images on one card means one less thing to worry about.... other than very long dowload sessions

Simple answer - NO. Buy two normal Sandisks for the price of the UltraII.
