There are things I like about this picture and there are things I don't.
I don't like the fact that the little boy isn't looking at the camera.
I do like the way he is almost singled out. Even though he is one of the supporters he still looks different because of his away shirt.

So I photoshopped it and I really like it this way.
It also doesn't make my eyes hurt the way some other zoomed pictures do.

Which one do you prefer? and why?

The idea of singling the boy out is good, but your zoom-effect IMO is to strong.
He is already singled out because of the yellow.
Sure it would have been great if he could have looked : one looking back in a crowd.

But what about blurring the surroundings instead of zooming?

I am still a newbie myself, but I am finding the red beanie (the red shirt by his temple) a bit distracting. The first place I look is the boy, then my eye zooms up to the red thing by his head.

The zoom is too strong, I think, maybe a slight blur to the people in behind him.
Otherwise, I like the candid shot.
