Challenge #11 - Newspapers

Sorry that this is later than hoped :( I've had a crazy last couple of days chasing bird flu :( around North Wales...........

I've picked this week’s challenge newspapers, as they finance my extravagant lifestyle  , so any picture to do with the newspaper industry from someone reading one to a printing press etc, or a picture with a great story behind it, that you have had published in a newspaper but not a magazine.

Good luck and I look forward to seeing your pics :D .......... Rob

why does it have to be a DSLR?...seems like you might be eliminating some worthy shots...

I see where you're coming from, but maybe it's just because this is primarily a DSLR forum. Just my tuppence worth.;)

It is because there are contests for the other types/models of cameras in their respective areas of POTN. And DSLRs are not allowed ot participate in those contests.

Also there is not supposed to be commenting during the contests.

i've never seen the other competitions...also i may be wrong...but i'm assuming the commenting is about the photos...not just general questions

Canon DSLR Speed Challenge #11 is officially closed.

And the winners are...

1st: DILORENZO-1954 - Morning Ritual
This picture has everything in it that you would want, and even the crossword seems to be filled out properly :) Well set up and well thought out shot.......... Congrats

2nd: GRUMPYHAGGIS - Lets get going
I love the way that the dog in the picture, as quoted by insideshot, is the perfect angle for the paper........ great eye for a picture and great capture

3rd: COSWORTH - Chinese Correction
Made me think of Albert Einstein checking his shares :) I like the detail in this picture and being in black & white finished this picture of perfectly.

Congrats to everyone that entered the competition and all of the pictures were really good :) This Judging thing is certainly not as easy as you would think it would be, and it wasn't easy to pick a winner plus runners up............

Next time if there is one for me I'll pick an easier subject  and I also don't know why it is a DSLR competition, but it is, and you wouldn't enter a motorbike in a 4 wheel drive race!!!!!!
