RAW Conversion with Photoshop

Hi,

Some how my Photoshop( Adobe Photoshop CS Version 8), is not able to open my CR2 files from 400d. Should I install any plugins? I tried coping Camera Raw 2.3 and 2.4 and 4.0 in to file Formats folder, but still it doesnt work.

Any suggestions welcome please.

I have this same problem, but I hadn't made any posts about it...

I guess we need a new version of PS CS.

I'm also very curious to know if there's any quick fix to this.

I don't use CS but Elements 5, however a friend of mine pointed me to this forum thread in regard to CS and RAW files.

I do like the DNG conversion option. Honestly, I keep all of my files in DNG and use the converter so they are more portable in the future. The DNG converter will even let you embed the original RAW file. Anyway, converting the images one by one is painful, so I use the mass conversion utility found at the link below. Works like a charm for me and might save you having to buy a new and very expensive version of Photoshop.
