Question: IR Filter for 10D?

Hello,

I would like to have the capability to shoot IR as best as possible with 10Ds. I've tried one popular post-processing action but didn't particularly like the results.

First, can it be done successfully with the 10D?
If yes, can you recommend a particular filter (77mm)?

i've heard this one before
Something about a strong IR filter (can't remember the number-other will) .Long exposures are needed so it only applies to still subjects
