Portrait of a Bar Manager

I'm posting this portrait simply because it shows how well the Canon 420EX flash works with the G2.

Flash exposure was set to -2/3, exposure compensation to -1/3. I used a Sto-Fen Omnibounce and fired it directly at Peter -- no bouncing off non-existent side walls or the high, dark ceiling.

There was a spot of brightness about the size of a pinhead on the end of his nose that I cloned out. Otherwise, it's out of the camera, cropped, auto-contrasted and sharpened. The diffused light in the upper-right background is part of the bar display with spotlighted bottles and small statues.

Great character shot, Don. Thanks for all the info - I'm contemplating getting a 420EX when I can justify the cost along with minor things like food, clothing, and mortgage payments! ; )

P.S. to Jim -- I may have a 420EX but I still prefer not to use it. That's why I posted this photo -- it's one of the few flash portraits I've taken. I usually prefer available light.
