Hi folks,

I've been using a 1GB IBM Microdrive (udrive) with my D60 for the last 18 months and historically I have preferred extracting the card and using USB readers to plugging the data cable into the side of camera...

Of late, the D60 has been giving me a lor of "ERR 02" messages in the LCD and pictures are corrupted as they are written to the card - when I use the udrive.

When I use the same udrive with a USB card reader, there are no issues. Also, a new flash-based CF card + my D60 are working fine together.

Have I just reached the end of the useful life of the udrive? could there be contact issues in the pins inside the camera or in the udrive card?

Has anybody else had this issue?

Have you tried to reformat the microdrive in a PC?

That *might* help, maybe.

At least it will tell you if all the memory on the microdrive is still usable.

On the G2, the 'Format' only clears the FAT, it does not check for bad sectors (5 seconds as opposed to 5 minutes format time)

Best regards,
Andy

I agree. Do a complete format in a PC, and then put it back into the camera and format it there. Then repeat your experiment and see what happens. It can't hurt.
