Hi guys. So I need your help. I have finally decided to create a zenfolio account in order to share my pictures with friends and family. I am not a professional photographer but just want to share my pictures at events, outings, etc...

I was very concerned that zenfolio doesn't have a "comments" feature and even though they are working on it, it could take a while to develop. But I digress...

Anyway I would like to have my own domain name and point it to zenfolio to it will be professional. The problem is that I'm not very creative when it comes to these things lol.

I was thinking of going to godaddy.com and purchasing a dot com, but what? Should I just have it like "mynamesphotos.com"? Not sure if it's a good idea to have my name on the url. So I would appreciate some comments/suggestions. Thanks so much.

Well #1 is make it easy to remember.I used 1&1.com for my hosting and have been very happy. They are the largest hosting company and give you a lot for your money.

I dont thin you'll need a domain to have an account with zenfolio, its more like a hosting site. They should assign you an address for your portfolio, someone who uses it coluld probably tell you.

thanks. I used my initials -photos.com
you can link a domain with zenfolio which is what I decided to do.

By the way I noticed most people here use it for their pro photography of landscapes, animals, etc... No one really used it for pictures of their own personal parties events. Is it not a good idea to have such pictures online, or am I missing something?

I dont see a problem having your initials in there. That is a very small piece of info about yourself.
Did you use a code to save 5.00 at zenfolio? If you are on a trial membership use this code to save 5.00 Q1C-UW2-JBQ
