First off this is my first post here so hi.

I just bought a Canon A75. I actually have two at the moment with the intent to return one. If you're curious I found the A75 for less online (Staples) and will be returning the first one to Best Buy.

Now for my question. Today I recieved thesecond A75 from Staples. I poped in some batteries and started to make sure it was all working. I already had a few days to explore the first A75 I got so I knew what to expect. What I noticed was that everytime I used the zoom on the second A75, it would make strange noises, as if it was adjusting itself to focus or adjust itself for the lighting conditions.

What's strange is that the first A75 I bought daoes not make this noise. I mean I cna hear some noise coming from the lens when it's adjusting but it's no where near as loud as the second A75.

Just curious if maybe this is normal or an indication that something is wrong with the camera. It takes pics just fine.

I also noticed that the second, loud zoom A75, the mode dial is really tight and hard to move. Maybe I just got a bad camera or something.

Sounds like the second one has been dropped (maybe during shipping). It might be put together wrong too ... Is there any dents? Is the dial crooked?

The hard to move dial, and the noisy zoom seem a bit of a warning flag.

My suggestion: Contact Best Buy and see if they will match the Staples price. If so, return Staples camera. If not, return Best Buy and Staples cameras and get a new camera from Staples.

I already contacted Best Buy, they said they wouldn't match Staples price as I used an online coupon.

As for the camera from Staples, it has no dents and looks perfect.
