View Full Version : Formula One @ Monaco 2007 (Thursday & Saturday)

Well... just got back from 6 days in Nice, travelling over to Monaco for the Formula One Grand Prix. Tiring, but an amazing experience and one I would definately recommend to any Formula One enthusiast.

Upon landing at Nice we saw Kylie Minogue and when we left we were on the same Heathrow BA plane as Lewis Hamilton!! Yes, really!! Real nice guy, he signed an F1 Mag for me and had a couple of photos taken with him :) - Those photos won't end up on here though ;)

As for the racing... well it wasn't great was it - to be honest I didn't expect it to be. Still the atmosphere was quality and the sound around the streets of Monte Carlo just incredible - totally different to Silverstone.

Anyway that's my first ever Grand Prix race weekend under my belt. I would probably go again but not for a few years. I think I would like to see Spa or Montreal next - whenever I can afford it!!! As you'd expect viewing at Monaco wasn't always ideal and it was very busy. Still here's a few compressed "forum friendly sized" photos...

Excellent shots - out of interest which grandstands were you in?

Last year I was at Casino and the outside of Rascasse but would like to try somehere different next year. Some of my pics are on this forum if you do a search.

Too bad those Red Bull (or Torro Rosso) cars don't run as good as they look. Awesome shots. I still miss Schumi!

Last year I was at Casino and the outside of Rascasse but would like to try somehere different next year. Some of my pics are on this forum if you do a search.

JK, yeh we had different seats on each day. Thursday we were in grandstand "K" which overlooked the harbour. Saturday we were in grandstand "L" and on raceday we were in grandstand "B" which was Casino Square. I've probably already seen your pics as I did a thorough search before we booked tickets some months ago :p

Some great pictures there, well done. I really like the close up of Liuzzi.

I was in Monaco myself and had a great time, I was quite literally a few feet from the track in section Z1 which is along the straight towards Tabac.

I didn't take my kit with me however I did take my P&S and got some surprisingly good shots by poking my arm through the fence and shooting down the straight.

I'd post a few but my P&S is a Fuji so I guess it's not quite within the spirit of the forum but I trust I'm ok to include a link?

Some cool shots there Az, I'd love to go to Monaco, I bet it wasn't easy getting a decent shot though.

nice pics, I was in grandstands K3 ,except for the down pour on saturday morning the weather was great.

Yes I was in Grandstand K on the Thursday. Gives a nice view of the car around Tabac, plus any girlies on the cruise liners :p
