I'm afraid my strobe broke right before the first dive so the Bones family and my little blue gill friend where done with manual exposure and no artificial light. On the Junk dive I was using a single DS50 I rented and it didn't have a diffuser so lots of back scatter. I was using a Canon 20D in an ikelite housing. On the natural light I varied the shutter speed with a fstop of 8.0 and a ISO of 400. The blue gill was 1/60 exposure the Bones at 1/30 using the Canon 17X85 IS USM lens.

Isn't it illegal to trespass into a crimescene?

#1 is totally awesome. I'd convert it to BW...

Maybe I'd use a tripod or rest the camera somehow. Are there underwater tripods at all

I probably should have set the Fstop down to 4.0 or the ISO up to 800 but one of my contact pads in the ikelite housing came loose and I couldn't do all my adjustments in manual. I hope to go back later in the summer with a properly working set of strobes. The first one was at about 50 feet deep, the Junk at 62 feet and the Blue gill at 12 or so.

are those real bones? I like it! Im to afraid to take my 30d down with me. Do you have full confidence in the ikelite housing? I was thinking about buying one.

No, they are plastic. I have dove with the Ikelite housing many times and have never had a single problem with it. Yes, it is always a risk, but that makes the photos even better! The camera is a tool, a means to an end, not the end. Besides, it is insured!
