From what I've seen elsewhere the main hang-out appears to be the "In & Out" Burger Bar on Sepulveda Blvd.

That's an okay location for oncoming shots. However, the better location is the hill on Imperial Avenue. This is the road above Imperial Highway, just west of Sepulveda.

Yes I will be working at the Airport a few hours a day.

My Airline Expressjet has a new contract to do Delta flying out of LAX. Unfortunatly for me the trips are nearly all 1 day trips without the ability schedule wise for me to go home OAK and back each day. Luckily for me my best friend who works for annother airline will be TDY'd from dallas to sit reserve in LAX, he will have a hotel room assigned to him, somewhare on century blvd.

He is also a canon DSLR shooter...

When I get my schedule sorted for June I will post it so we can have a little meet....and possibly some in-n-out....

Does anyone have a particularly good hotel to shoot LAX from, especially for night shots?

I don't really know of any I would recommend. The only one I got shots from was the Holliday inn on century. I had a north facing room with a balcony, so it was good for runways 24 arrivals but not the airport itself. None of the other hotels I stayed at had windows that opened or faced the airport or arrivals.

In-n-out burger was the best spot for up close arrival photos, and the bonus of good food. The parking spot supulvida had a shuttle that ran constantly to the airport that they would let you take to get to the in-n-out burger next door.

I met and chatted with several nice photographers here and even some pilots.
