but I wish that people would warn on the title if a post contains a nude photo; usually that one guy who posts so many does, but why would someone think "Dreamy Effect" would contain a nude?
I am not saying that anything is wrong with nudes, but if I don't want to look at them, I should have that right, and not have to come across it unsuspecting. It's not like people walk around like that. You wouldn't just walk into a room, and OOPPPPPSSS, a naked person,((RUN AWAY!!!!))
I know nudes can be art but it is a sensitive topic, and I don't believe in censorship, but I believe that people should be warned.
And please don't blast me saying if I didn't want to see nudes then I shouldn't be on a photo website, because really that's just not fair. I know less than one percent of photos are of nudes in here. I went to a link from the links post and almost died! There were photos posted right on the opening page, of what I do not consider art, but porno. IMO, nude art is like the rennessance paintings of the fat naked women laying around (You know the ones I mean??). That- is art.
Anyway, I am not saying AT ALL that people should not post nudes, or look at nudes, just....please let us know if we are about to so if we don't want to we won't have to!
Just my thoughts

I voted 'yes'. I can't imagine anyone thinking otherwise.

99% of the photos shared are perfectly fine to open at school/work/in front of family.
However some are not, and i'd rather i know to open the photo of the women spread eagle when i get home rather then in front of the librarian at my school.

Of course there should be some reference to advise of any nudity. I think that 99.9% of those that post nudes do exactly that.

Yeah, i dont think i've ever been shocked at the content of a photograph here.

I agree, Julie. Actually, I don't understand why people wouldn't automatically put a forewarning on those messages. BTW, you're not a prude for asking that...

Ahhh ya still got that link? LOL Just kidding. A sports board I used to frequent a lot had a rule, if you posted any kind of nudity then you had to include (!) in the title of the thread. The main reason was because a lot of the guys would log on at work and some had reports that their boss would get automatically if they were viewing anything unappropriate.
Nudity has it's place but I wouldn't consider this board as one of them.
Maybe the (!) should be used here as well. Then Jemmind, or anyone else who didn't want to see some nekkid gal could avoid that thread.

Considering I have access to a computer only at work... I would appreciate it too if there could be some kind of warning. I have some strange people who work with me... and because I live in an Islamic country nudity of any kind for them is anything but art. :( tis sad I know...

A simple warning in the title cant hurt for reasons already stated. It's just a simple courtesy. I for one wouldn't want to open a nude with people looking over my shoulder that may be either offended or too young.

I really appreciate the warnings in the titles so I can avoid the threads I don't want to view at that time, I often view threads while at work, and since I work in an open office where mutlitudes of folks are walking about, no privacy can be expected.
Perhaps we could classify the image (flower, animal, portrait, nude/semi-nude, nature, bird butt, landscape...) Like this:
Dreamy Picture (nude)
Dreamy Picture (landscape)
Dreamy Picture (flower)....
All three posts are "dreamy" but obviously three different subject matter.

Yes. I often open "share photos" threads at work. It would be awkward for a nude (no matter how "artistic") to pop up just as the Chief Executive walks into my office.
The line between "art" and "pornography" is often in the eye of the beholder.

Haha. Be glad you're not my husband. That is strictly forbidden....
Well I looked on my history and looked on the links sticky post, and didnt see it listed, but I know I linked to that website somehow from in here. What is bad is that it probably is a very good site for people to share their work, but the post even bad photos right on the MAIN page. It's the photosig website. I am so glad this website is not like that, or I wouldnt be there. that is extremly sickening to me. Don't go to that site at work, that's for sure!! I am so glad this site isnt like that.
Now how many minds have i corrupted because I put where it was at?
Thanks for all the comments, I am glad that I am not alone. I am an adult, and although seeing a nude isn't gonna kill or warp me, I would rather know so I can avoid it.

A warning SHOULD be included... most users do.
As a courtesy there should be warnings for other subjects of photography as well.. again most often there is (extreme violence etc..)

Fair warning is the right thing to do.
Are there enough post of nudes or more adult images that there should be a forum just for that? Glam shots, kink shots, etc?

Not currently. We have it seems two fairly regular glamour posters and the odd post here and there from others.
And even if we do start to break up the Share fotos section... then there would always be the issue of whether people would catagorize the same photos in the same way someone else would.
Personally.. I would not like to see the Share forum broken up at this time. We would need to do a whole sereis of sections in that case..IMHO.. Portraits, Wildlife, Landscape etc...

No need to split it up... Could provide a image type box that the poster rates their image as Wildlife, portrait, landscape, sexual or whatever... Then an Icon or description is displayed next to the subject.
From this the reader can easily scan for nature, nude, city shots, or whatever. Perhaps even sorting all message. Perhaps even blocking threads they don't want (set in the profile) (thus preventing them from even listing for the user.)

But how would their filtering software know that you are looking at a nude picture if it is off of someone's gallery site?

Errr... I like nudity.
Ok, I don't like porn, capitalism, consumerism, naturism...
Nudity doesn't bother me....
A warning's cool but, if I'm honest, it probably lures me in. Ha! And I think the folk that post it know that too. Just look at the posts and see how many hits a nude, shock, warning post gets.

I think nudity is fine within limits and certain contexts. :D You would never have guessed that.    In fact, I think I might be the guy that Julie is referring to as I post a number of glamour and nude images.
I simply try to respect convention. Some forums have nude posts with no warning. It is expected there that some or even most images will contain nudity in some form. The community here appears to be quite diverse. Therefore I think it's appropriate to comment in the subject if something is nude. Heck, sometimes I will note in the subject line if it's just sexy but not nude. Afterall, I'm not certain it's just seeing a nipple that some people find inappropriate but the suggestion a glamour shot can offer, even if there is no nudity.
Anyway, if I ever do forget to post the warning, please bear with me. I do not mean to offend or surprise anyone.

Again,
The policy fo the forum is that a warning should be included.
This is a tough one to inforce of course if someone forgets.. that is, it is tough to inforce "in time" as we (the mods) simply can not and will not preview all the posts.
But I think we all can make do quite well working with warnings.
Charles is the best example.. in all the time I've been a mod here I think he forgot some for of warning only once. That's pretty good.
Lastly,
If anyone comes across an image that does not contain a warning and you beleive it should,. please notify a moderator via Personal Message, and we will make sure that an appropriate warning is edited into the topic title.
Thanks :D

Yeah, I know theres probably not another good reason to add to this post, but of course I posted yes. There should be a warning, likewise, I sometimes check out the posts at work, and don't want to pull up something that can be viewed offensively. Common sense used to put such cover work in brown bags. But I have heard it said Common sense is deathly ill. Lets try to revive him. Putting a note in the title is like just wrapping the cover in a brown bag, nothing wrong there. Those that want to look at it can still pull the brown bag off.
