Although a very common bird around these parts, this one showed very well.

The pose is good but this one is a little dark Steve. Did you use flash?

No flash. :(
It was one of those, do I reach for the flash and lose the bird, or take the picture, and take my chances. I chose the latter. ;)
This would have been a great shot taken with the BB (got to order one soon).

pretty shot, i love that background, just look at those soft colors...
and he has nice colors, ones i see round here only have the red on the chest. lucky u.

I know what you mean. I've taken to setting everything up before leaving the car. I put the camera on the tripod, mount the flash, add the Better Beamer. If I don't need it I leave the flash turned off. If I do, its just the flick of a switch. Otherwise I would be in the same boat with everything in my backpack and a decision to shoot or fumble around and likely miss the opportunity.
I have been back to Monocacy for a while. I'll have to make a point of stopping over sometime soon.
