My husband just bought me the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS lens for my birthday. Is the F/2.8 better than the F/4 better? What do you guys think?

Depends on teh body. If you have a high ISO capable body then the f4 is awesome.
I don't shoot wide open very much since I have gotten far better at DOF control. I miss the portability of my 4 !S. The 2.8 is a bear after 10 hours...

yeah its a stunning lens alright. optically they say the new F4 IS has better IQ than the older 2.8 IS but IMO the 2 of them are stunning. since ive started doing weddings i feel i'd like the 2.8 IS. another pro i work with has it and its attached to his 5D plus battery grip and it weighs a ton lol. end of the day, the 2 of them are great lenses, the 2.8 is far superior for low liht stuff though
