I needed the fisheye lens for the wedding last week and I looked at several online renting services. Rentglass.com rarely has the stuff available and others either have ridiculously high renting fees or require deposit of the amount of the lens in question, which I did not like either.

The only place I could find that had the lens I needed with superb service was www.lenprotogo.com and I just wanted to share it with you guys.

Paul, the owner, personally contacted me thru email at 11:00 pm (?) to make sure that they received the order and will shop the lens so that I receive it before the wedding. He responded to all my emails on the same day.

The price is perfect and there is no deposit. Shipping both ways is included in the price and days start counting when you receive the lens. So I paid only $ 50 for the fish eye and I called him to reserve 135L for the next week's wedding.

I thought you might want to check this guy out: www.lensprotogo.com

"Thanks, Mali. I bookmarked the site for future reference."

You're welcome Liza. I was at some point desperate. I needed to rent a lens at a reasonable price and some places out there charged way too much. Especially I did not like the deposit idea. I did not want to put a block on my account for so many dollars. That was a very big put off for me.

Also, I hated it when some of them started the days when the lens was still in the mail. Anyways, as a business owner myself, I know that people who have the smallest thing to complain about do so and so loudly and those who are happy usually stay quiet. That's why, I want to give this guy the appreciation he deserves.

"How did the fisheye do for you?"

It was a nice experience; I never used a fisheye before. It was a lot faster than my 10-22 obviously and I used it more than I expected especially during the low light ceremony. It is pretty fast focusing even in low light; kinda noisy but it is not a big deal.

One more thing that I noticed was that although it was a fisheye, it was not as wide as my 10-22, something I did not quite figure out before I tried it. When I thought of a fisheye, I expected it to cover a pretty wide area, even wider than 10-22. But I was wrong. It was very noticeable. I wish I could try it on a full frame body because the fisheye effect is lost to some degree on 20D.

Overall, I liked it very much, though. It is very sharp, which was something else I noticed, that is, primes are sharper than the zooms.

Now this experience made me realize that I need to add a prime to my lens collection. I am considering 85 1.8.

I recently had a similar experience with them and cannot begin to say enough postive things about the service they provide! I spoke with Paul on the telephone before the rental and he is polite and customer oriented. I predict big things for him and his company!
