I just had time for a little visit at Copenhagen zoo. I will go back this weekend.
The owl enclosure is surrounded by lots of trees so light were limited. So I had to bump ISO to 3200! Exif info below each photo in the frame.

Yes I currently don't have any NR software and don't know how to reduce noise in PS.

Great pictures - the owl has a great expression in the first!
I'm very jealous - what's ISO 6400 like?

I thought Canon included NR software with the camera...That was supposed to be one of the selling points.

Tommy, beautiful shots. I have been watching your anticipation at the other post area, discussing the Mark III and the camera and you make a good match. Congrats.

Thanks all.
Yes ISO 3200 is amazing and note that I did not run these photos through a noise reduction software.

Lovely shots Tommy, man, that noise is unbelievable!!!! Seriously, that's better noise performance than ISO 200 on my 1D...man...I'm in tears now :(

Nice owl shots, but mostly WOW to the 3200. Had my XTi at my last zoo visit, and sure could have used the Mk3. Anything I shot over 400 was pretty much a throw-away.
Mk3 will be here Tuesday. I blame all of you!!! :)

Ok I have tried running it through Noise Ninja (its the trial version so there is a grid overlayed). I used auto settings. Questions if this is overdone.

I think NN took too much detail away from the eyes and feathers. Maybe toned down a bit. I still can't believe this is 3200. Amazing. My mkIII should be here tomorrow :)

Wowzer, Tommy. Those are really nice pics of the great gray owl. And at ISO 3200, too! I'm really impressed (with the Mark III, that is since I already knew you took great pictures ;) BTW, congrats!).

Isn't everybody getting a little tired of the old Mark III chatter and ISO 3200 blah ,blah, blah? Nope? Me neither! These are outstanding images and I cannot wait (though wait I will) to get my hands on this body. Terrific shots. Congratulations.

Wondeful pics. The first one, the owl might be saying, "ISO of 3200, really?" ;)
