Hello,
I have a Canon A80 and I recently purchased a 2GB Ridata 150x Supreme Series compact flash card for the camera. About a month ago, we had an issue where the momory card was giving an error. Using PC Inspector File Recovery, I was able to recover most of the photos. After this incident, I went ahead and reformatted the card and everything seemd to be going well until a few days ago. I think I may have turned the camera off too quickly after taking a short movie of my kids and I got a memory card error again. This time, however, things are different, I've downloaded almost every popular photo recovery software available and I've had no luck (e.g. EASEUS, BadCopy, F-Recovery, Digital Photo Recovery, CardRecovery, Photo Rescuue, EasyRecovery, ImageRecall, etc..). Some of the programs can't even read the CF. When I try to read the CF in WinXP, it says that I need to format the card. I haven't formatted the card, but I wanted to see what happened when I said Ok to formatting and I got an error in windows saying that the drive wasn't ready. I tried other CF cards in my card reader and they read fine so I know it isn't the reader. The interesting thing is that the photo recovery software that could read the card showed the capacity as 2TB instead of 2GB. Yes 2TB!! Has anyone out there run into this kind of thing? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
