Without seeing the bride's expression, we can almost feel her nervousness in #1 :) Plus, along with #2, they are good detail shots.
#3 is probably my least favorite of the set. There's nothing that really grabs me as different, original or filled with emotion. But it's still a decent shot :D, and I'd like to know why you chose that shot to post here as I'm sure that you have your reasons.
I just love 6 and 7!! The bride's expression in 6 is priceless and you can see the emotion in 7!

Hard not to like these .. the posing in #5 is great and I will be shamelessly stealing it shorly. Might be worth a try with a longer lens from farther away to get more compression in the scene and bring out the background people a little more?
Nice capture of emotion in #6 & 7. My only quibble would be the conversions in #1,2,3 & 7 .. not a fan of the toning.

1. Anticipation! Nice detail shot.
2. My personal opinion - I know these shots are quite popular but I'm getting just about as bored with them as I am of selective coloring. This is a good one except that the line on the brides back where she is getting squeezed into the dress makes me think of a butt-crack(sorry). Maybe see what it looks like if you got rid of the line.
3. Cute filler shot.
4. Beautiful! Very nice capture, lovely expression, very pleasing color.
5. I like the posing and subject matter of this one but the words on the top of the building keep drawing my attention and it makes the shot seem crooked. I realize that the steps are straight and that the angle is what makes it appear crooked but what if you cropped out the words or gave it a slight left rotate?
6 & 7 Great capture of strong emotion, I love them!
Overall- Nice captures!

i like #5 the best. I don't know anything about how to do wedding shots yet but i think it should have more contrast or something in the black and whites i like #6 alot too.

Excellent photos Tim. I know you don't like simple comments like that but, all I can do for these is appreciate.
One question: have you done any beach weddings?

Hi Tim.
In pic 5 did you take that with the 17-55 as I find with my lens that the uprights always lean when your at or about the 17mm end, I did wonder if I had a duff lens but at other settings its really good.
Nice shot by the way, but I dont like the first picture, and 2 seems too busy.
Martin.

#6 and 7 are the best of the series.
#4 is a nice portrait, lighting is a bit hot. 1/2-1 stop or so overexposed.
#5 doesnt work at the small size but 8x10 or larger should rock.
Which brings me to #1.. dont like it at all too tight a crop and dont like the PP. The skin looks nasty.
#2 doesnt do it for me either the head on the left is a big blob of black.

How do you shoot now?
Thanks for the comments more are welcome, especially those that constructively suggest how to improve. I'm off to day 2 of my double header so no time to reply to other posts, but thanks to you all.

Great seriers there Tim, but I'm with JustKat on the back crack. I'm sure the bride wouldn't want to see it either.
Number 7 does it for me, true emotion captured in the picture (and I have a soft spot for the older generation).

Tim,
Do you want the same treatment????
It's a pity I am too nice sometimes....my thoughts:
1. Gives off the bride is nervous, nice effect
2. I like the DOF - photo shop out the crease in her back - it's one thing i would HATE to see in my photos
3. Angle not needed....boring shot, wouldn't have picked this to showcase
4. I really like it - colours are great
5. Cute, nice ambient lighting
6. Nice Capture
7. Great emotion..
Blunt and to the point - but tactful....see how it's done???

I like them all..
but a few comments...
as mentioned the back crack..
I love the last one...lots of emotion
#5. You guys all liked it...I like the picture but the dress seemed to me to be ill fitting...not Tim's flaw at all..but It really caught my eye...I love the color, etc. Just the body in that dress...
Great job...thanks for posting again..missed ya!

Good shots overall, good to see you back. :0
A wedding on 3/6/07 though? Is my calendar wrong? ;)
I have a wedding this Tuesday. At least I won't have to worry about the heat

Thanks everyone I appreciate the critique. I really didn't notice the back crease, i've replaced it with a quick fix in PS, along with another photo of the same thing - just because I can (below).

Your studio?
Is it setup?
My final wedding tomorrow, it will be my goal to have the whole load of edited photos finished in record time. So I still have a full 2 weeks to plan and save before I move to England, via 2 week trip to Thailand. PS. bye ;) - you may not have known

Studio in the sense that a photography business is called a studio, you don't need a studio for weddings. Didn't know you were off, good luck i've been to quite a few places including Thailand so PM if you have questions :)
