Tour of the Bitterroot Criterium Races (8 images)

The shots our from the Tour of the Bitterroot Criterium Races last weekend. The crit races were stage 2 of three stages. I will post some of the shots from stage 1 which was the road race in a different thread. I found the crit races to be easier than the road races due to many more attempts. The rain in the final races also helped to add some drama to the shots. Comments and criticism appreciated as I'm looking to improve.

I like the rain shots - nice action - misery! We all have different opinions for cropping, etc. #1 I'd leave out the cycles on the right. #2 is too tight - is he crashing or turning?

My parents and sister live in Hamilton. Where were they racing? the red cross walks look like "downtown" (and I use the term loosely....LOL) Hamilton!

Thanks for the ideas about the crops. I agree thet the 2nd is probably too tight and I also think that the first shot would be better as you described.

Yes, the crit races were right "downtown". It was a pretty cool event. I think the rain kept a lot of spectators away.

Man, did anyone eat it while trying to turn corners in the rain? That must suck trying to ride in the rain and make a decent time.

I was told that one rider did go down in a turn but it was on the other side of the course from where I was at. I was surpirsed at how well they cornered in the standing water.
