I was asked to shoot a weeding in two months and need to come up with a price. I have already decided that since I am new it will be fairly cheap. What I would like from you guys is what do you include in your packages and the price. Here is what I am looking for.
Example: $500.00 includes
(1) 11X14, (4) 8 X 10, (6) 5 X 7, 20 page wedding album and X number of 4 X 6 prints.
I would really appreciate your feedback.
PS. I want to charge for the entire package and not charge for the shoot then upsale the images to the client.
Thanks!
Chris

When you say "wedding album," what do you mean? What type of album?
Personally, I think you're giving them something for nothing. It takes a long time to post process all those images. You'll also have to upgrade your equipment and add a backup body, so you should figure in the cost of that. I'd charge them a higher base rate that includes only a minimum print credit, a DVD slide show, and a proof book from MPIX. Then set your print prices accordingly to maximize profit on enlargement sales.

I currently use Mpix and was wondering about their wedding or book albums and their quality. Have you tried it? also, I think I will use the print credit idea.
Thanks!

There was a thread on here not too long ago about the quality of the Mpix books. I'm not crazy about the way they look, to be honest. Jamie Wexler mentioned that Shared Ink has a photographer's program. I signed up for it recently to have an alternative to digital flush mount albums, but have not yet ordered a book from them.
