Hi all, these are my first postings in this section, and I'm pretty new to photography in general.
I'm not sure I like them or not- please feel free to comment away! They were taken at the local lunatic asylum- closed down about 20 years ago, but I felt the cracks were appropriate......
How could I accentuate the cracks in the "Store" pic better?
Cheers!

Somebody say something for goodness sake!!!!!! Throw a tomato, call them abominations, spit on them, but kill them not with cold hard silence! Alas, the silence of your minds quickens the dread within my chest!

Tomato hurled! Just kidding, actually 3 hours with no replies isn't too bad, especially on a weekend. I think your shots have much potential, texture-wise. To bring it out, you can bump the contrast a bit and/or do a bit of dodging and burning to accentuate it. By the way I don't feel that the central positioning of the word 'Store' is very flattering, perhaps putting it somewhat to the side would be better. That's just me though. Welcome to the Urban side!

Hey- that tomato had a stone in it!
Thanks Bottom- I appreciate the C&C! I'll play with thema bit more. I normally go for bird and landscape pics, so Urban pics are new to me.

I think that # 2 and 3 are fine.
I'd like to see the 3rd from a lateral angle pointing into the left most triangular crack for some nice DOF - so that you can see the two cracked paint portions rising towards each other (if that makes sense).
With #1 I would simply crop a little differently, maybe only include one of the letters, bump up the contrast (like a previous poster mentioned) and possibly bump up the saturation around one of the two top (nails or screws) where that light brown "splatter" is. Just a thought :)

These are good as stock resources, making photoshop brushes grunge etc. Nice!

Thanks guys, and I see your point Ultra- next time I'm there I'll have a try at shooting into the crack.
Thanks!
