Really my first try at attempting anything HDR. Blended from 7 exposures, used the Histogram/Curves function in CS2. I tried to do it mildly as I'm not a fan of the overdone look. Shot with the Sigma 70-200 2.8 tripod mounted. What do you think?

Good work for your first HDR! I love bugeyes.
I'd say for the shot... take it a little bit closer to the car. The scenery is gorgeous, but a little distracting.

I know you put some work into this & it's OK as a snapshot where the woods look as important, maybe more important, as the car is. It would be OK in a series of shots, but wouldn't be a good "Stand alone" car shot. So I'd crop it.
The bright trees at the left are distracting, as is the sun on the back quarter. Generally you would want a darker area around the car to make it pop out of the pic. Look at the POST NEAR THE BOTTOM: The gray bar at the center is the same density all the way across.

You had the idea and positioning of the car correct, but I think you could have either zoomed in or gotten lower. Or even used a different lens altogether. Like Frank said above, the trees with sunlight on the left side of the pic are distracting. Try to avoid scenes with highly uneven lighting in the future. It makes processing a whole lot easier for you in the end when trying to correct the exposure.

thanks for the tips all.. It was an impromptu sort of shot, just wanted to try and experiment with the "merge to HDR" in CS2. I will try again and be sure to post up results for critique. I had meant to do a whole series, but was having so much fun driving the roads, time ran short on me.:)
