witch camera would you use for an airshow 1D clasic or 30D lens will be 100-400 and a 17-55

If you're shooting anything that's moving...use the 1D by all means. ..with the 100-400.

1d, like night and day. I have a 20D as backup and you can tell the difference. Even with the same lens.

Ok will the 17-55 work on the 1D the reson I ask is I dont have a 17-55 Im going to barrow on from a friend
and are saying the 1D over the 30D just for the better focusing ?

Yeap, the 1D is much faster and accurate. If you want to shoot planes in the air, look at renting a 100-400L or Sigma 50-500. If the 17-55 is EF-S it will not work on the 1D.
edit:Just checked and it is, so if you want something to shoot planes on the ground, look at a 24-70L or 24-105.

Ok thanks I have a 24-105 I just thought a 17-55 IS would be better for wide shots on the ground

I would have taken a 30D, for the extra reach with the 1.6x crop, and also higher pixel count, to get a better output product

With a 100-400 he won't need more reach.
