I have a quick question. I am new to Digital SLRs and all and have the new Digital Rebel, Canon Speedlite 420ex, Stroboframe Quick Flip, standard 18-55 lense and the EF 75-300 lense.

Here is my question...

When I use the speedlite on the hotshoe it works very well on many different settings. When I use it on the Stroboframe and take the same pictures my shutter will stay open very long and I don't get a good pic and when I change the ISO setting to 400+ and take a pic I only get half a picture...the bottom half is black. What am I doing wrong? Is there something I should take into consideration? SOrry for the newbie questions but I am in a funk.

Thanks in advance...

Al

To maintain ETTL off the hotshoe, you have to use the Canon Off The Shoe Cord 2. If you already are, let me know and we'll go from there. The fact that only half your picture is exposed indicates that the flash and camera are not synched properly.

Thanks for the help. Actually I have a Promaster off-camera TTL Cord that came with the Strobolite as a package deal. Does the Digital Rebel support ETTL?

That's your problem. Canon digital cameras use only ETTL. No ATTL or TTL. You need the Canon Off The Shoe Cord 2.
