I finished another shot from my adventure, comments/criticism welcome.

EDIT: Well, I went back and decided something just wasn't right with how I processed it so I just started from the original RAW file and did it again...

Any thoughts?

At first I was going to say that I wished the foreground/trees/forest were brighter...but now that I look at it more, it makes alot of sense. Morning, and the trees are still not completely lit up or even bright yet.

Scott, I'll say it again: Damn good shot there. Definitely worthy of a frame.

There have been a number of great shots taken from just that spot, which I recognize from a brilliant Ansel Adams shot that I have in a book.

Very nice capture!

That's the best shot I've seen in a while, very nicely done!

Any post-porcessing or HDR? Filters or any such?

Thank you all for the nice comments, this image really hits home with me and I'm glad you all enjoy it as well. I went to the spot for sunset 3 straight days and spent 2.5 hours waiting on the night I captured this... so maybe it all paid off.

That's the best shot I've seen in a while, very nicely done!

Post processing was done in a usual manner... levels, curves, horizon line, white balance, and some burning/dodging. As for the actual exposure, there was NO HDR used, this was a single shot... I used a 3-stop Grad ND filter to control the highlights.

Scott,

This was taken from the "Snake River Overlook" in Grand Teton NP, northwestern Wyoming, a few weeks ago.

Scott - great capture of a wonderful place. Were the photogs lined up along the wall? I am also looking forward to getting back there. It looks like you had a very productive trip. Nice stuff.

Nope, I was the only person there to witness this... a few came and went, but none stuck around... they didn't think anyting was going to happen with the sunset. :D

Beatiful capture. Several people have inquired about where the picture was taken. This is a popular roadside spot that overlooks the Tetons. If i remember correctly, there is a parking lot and overlook from this point. Ansel Adams did take one of his most famous photos from this point. Hope this info. helps.

Thats exactly right, its a popular turnout and called the "Snake River Overlook" for a reason. But, as for Ansel Adams, when his famous image was captured the trees in front hadn't grown so much, now they block part of the river's beautiful curve in that section.
