All of my photos are stored under 'My pictures' on my computer. Is there a way to view what settings I used on each photo? When I highlight a photo and right click on 'properties', the only info it gives me is the date I created it. I was just curious........

You can download Opanda IExif viewer free here. (http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/index.html) Then when you right click on a photo, you can open Opanda and it will show you all your EXIF information. It also works for some photos here on the forum.

Yes, the Canon software that came with your camera. I believe it's Zoombrowser.

Just checked; Zoombrowser under View; checkmark Show Shooting Information.

In the standard explorer window if you right click on the Row of properties across the top, where it states the NAME | SIZE | DATE | etc.... you can change or add the properties you want displayed in your columbs. This info is available on the RAW files.

Zoombrowser, which came with your camera will do this. I'll also put a vote in for Opanda IExif. You can browse in your My Pictures folder, right click, and there will be a selection for viewing the exif data. Also useful for viewing pictures here in the forum.

Opanda doesn't seem to want to let me see the exif data on pictures here. If I right click on the photos properties, shouldn't it give me the option of seeing the exif data?

When I right click on photos here, I get a menu option at the bottom of the right click menu that says "View Exif/GPS/IPTC with IExif". Doesn't always work if the photo hasn't been saved with Exif, but the menu option should still be there.

It's so strange, it just worked. I swear it didn't work a minute ago . I think I've been spending too much time trying to understand photography; my brain is fried:) :p

How do you make sure that your photo is saved with exif? I posted a photo here that I uploaded to flickr and it says 'no exif data available' when I try to view it here. Although I can see the data when I look at the photo under 'my pictures' on my computer.

Ok let me clear a few things up.

If you are using XP (and maybe Vista) you can see your EXIF in My Pictures by right clicking on a photo, choosing Properties and then click on the Advanced tab. This is not available pre XP.

Opanda is great for internet EXIF info. However, the photo MUST have EXIF saved to it in order to see it. To accomplish this do not use Save for Web in PS, instead use Save As or Image Ready (the program that Save for Web uses but you can set it up to retain EXIF).

Now, some Photo hosting sites resize your image depending on the original size you uploaded. Most times the resized version does not include EXIF, so make sure you are viewing the original, not the resized version.
