Does anyone have the new Tamarac Velocity series bag.
This allows you to wear like a bag but allows you to swing the bag to allow opening without removing the bag.
I bought the Velocity 8 today and was wondering.

I have the 9 and still using it. Its easier to access then a backpack type and won't leave it somewhere since its on my shoulder. Did that with backpack before.

Only used mine a couple of times. Had difficulty accommodating 20D/30D with grip attached. Okay for body with telezoom attached (no grip), a prime on one side and a speedlite on the other. Zip pocket under the lid held cards and a couple of batteries. Zip pocket in front kept my wallet, keys and ciggies safe. :)
Not bad for a walk around the park or city. ENJOY!

How far around does the sling open up to? Reason I ask is that I am considering buying the Velocity 9x, but I saw a single review from someone who said that the bag does not fit 'round' people. I weigh about 220 lbs with a 38 waist and don't want to order the bag if its not going to fit. Then on the other hand, maybe this would be the push I need to seriously lose weight.;) :p

I think you should be fine, you sound to be about my size and when I tried the 9 it seemed just fine. I just ordered the 9 since I ran out of room in the 7 which I really liked and still use all the time.

I have one, but have since moved to a backpack since it can accommodate more gear that is easily accessible

Does anyone know the answer to this?

I'm not exactly sure, but I might... barely. The 30D w/ grip would squeeze into my 6, and it fits into my 9 with the 70-200 attached no problem.
I fit the 70-200, 550, 16-32, and Epson P-2000 all in the 9 at the same time.
