I'm fairly new at photography and would like to take some great detail photos of furniture, one item at a time. It will be indoors under normal household lighting using my newly purchased Canon Rebel....Can any of you "ole PROS" give me any advice on what FILTERs or LENS would help me take the best shot possible?....THANKS :o :?:

Filters can be tricky. If you are shooting indoors, then you might be stuck with tungsten lighting. If that is the case, then either you need to use tungsten-type film for your Canon Rebel film camera or use a tungsten filter. Otherwise, if you are using flash, any daylight film should work without a filter.

Also if this 'Rebel' is actually digital Rebel you need no filters.

Use UV filter to protect the front glass of your lens.
Use Polirizer to make the sky darker, more saturated and to eliminate flare from non-metalic surfaces. I love my Polarizer! It helps me take fantastic landscapes. Like this one.

Yeah, but there is hardly any use of a polarizer inside, except to minimize glass glare perhaps. As for the lens, the sigma 12-24 and/or canon 17-40 L would be nice choices. If you're somewhat pickier, take a look at some primes in wideangle range and try them out before you buy them so you'll know what you need.
