It was so nice to have the sun shining today, I sat outside with my camera and just watched the plants. My neighbors must think I'm nuts.

Anyway, I came across a lot of interesting things today. I don't know what most of them are, so if you do, feel free to let me know!!

TFL!

Somebody is confused.

My favorite from the day, just two larvae hangin' out on a leaf.

Very interesting bugs, all of them. #7, the one standing on an aphid, looks like a wasp.
#1, the Bremen Town Musicians are just beautiful, and so are the caterpillars in #7.

spectacular caterpillars, one on the right is similar to the Vapourer moth in the Collins guide. #4 looks like a Harlequin ladybird larva. 2 & 3 are Woolly Aphids.
The spider looks like Tetragnatha extensa female in my guide.

Thank you! I always enjoy learning about different things. I never even thought the wooly aphid could be an aphid, never seen anything like it!

I love this macro stuff, it's very addicting!

Hi Jen
The spider is from the Tetragnatha family

I now think the beetles in the threesome may be Altica lythri. I have a similar photo and Altica was suggested on WAB forum.

Wonderful series.
Beetles and weevils seem to like getting into stacks like that :) Love the caterpillar shot- almost looks like an ugly duckling story :)
