I am not realy in to birding but I suspect I have a problem with A1 servo on my mk2 as I am geting a hell of a lot of OOF shots lately. so I have been using my wifes 30d and my 300f2.8 just to make sure its not me or the lens.

So what did you decide? Cause these shots are excellent. Although, #7 may be a bit soft.

Bummer. I would try another lens, non-IS first though. I had a problem with my old 100-400L IS taking soft shots too and it turned out when Canon got it, that it needed the IS unit replaced.

Great shots, esp. the first and last. I don't think the problem is you. --Rick

Those are some really nice shots you got. I've fired so many frames at swallows, trying to capture one of those little buggers, with little to no success. You first shot (swallow) is really nice.

I like the Oyster Catchers best, but they are all sharp

Its definitely the MarkII because these are some really splendid photos. I really like the swallow shots...they are swift little dodgers. Your Wife's 30D appears to be no slouch.
