I will be replacing this with the Canon 80-200mm f2.8 today.
Any suggestions for a third party converter that works AF on this
lense.?

:?:

I am afraid I am very confused about what your question is?

What kind of converter and for which of the two lenses you mention.. ? (ie: it has a Sigma listed in the title.. but I don't know what that as to do with the other lens mentioned :? )

What Camera?

I have the Canon 10D and now the Canon 80-200mm f2.8 L
Sigma and Canon TC's do not retain AF with this lens?

Assuming that the Canon 80-200mm f2.8L is correct, it is likely that the older lens does not AF with the Extender 1.4 II. Take a look at the EOS Lens website; there is a similar note relative to the 70-200m f2.8L where the AF is center point only. The f2.8L IS does not show this limitation.

My 'magic drainpipe' cost £350, I'd pay £1000 more for the IS version.

I hear the Tamron and Kenko TC's give respectable results and retain AF.? :D
