I'm not positive, but they look like bugs to me. the flying kind. :) I really like the 2nd shot, too bad you didn't get him from head on :)

Nice shots Alan, the first looks like an Ichneumon wasp and the second a scorpion fly.

hehe.. yeah i guess i am.. but then again it's almost 4am here and i'm on my 4th 12 hour mid shift. forgive my sarcasm. They really are great shots! :D I hope you can ID them soon.
