Good day all,

After shooting my first event May 7th and 8th with the MK11 I was dismayed at the exposure that came out of the camera and also the soft focus. I mentioned this on this forum at the time. I realized quickly what I should do about the exposure and remedied it perfectly but the soft focus issue remained even after I had concluded a second event last weekend (which I did a lot of work with the 10D because of focus issues). I sent the camera to CPS and was told today that the camera is faulty and has major back focus issues. Camera will be back with me tomorrow recalibtrated and fault free (I Hope)

This also happened with the 10D this year (Front and back focus) so I am feeling like it is a vendetta

Anyhoo, just a heads up to all you MK11 users to watch the results you are getting, and know that it may just be something other than technique or eyesight problems

It is unfortunate but this is how it is when prices must be as low as possible. Consumer is the beta tester. Great thing is that Canon repair is always very helpful, skillfull and fast (at least here in Helsinki).

Hi skiphoto. Can you post a sample of the before ("soft" focus) and after crystal sharp (we hope) photo when the camera comes back? I suspect my 300D of soft focusing too, but am having a hard time pinning down the source (camera, lens, caffeine jitters, olde age, etc.) I also may be just too picky with wanting more crispness from a digital camera than they can provide (compared to my Olympus OM1, fixed lenses, and kodachrome slide). I just don't have much to compare my digital shots with other "better" photos. Thanks if you can do this.
