ah the good old days....when you were nekkid and I wore that funny armour thing on my head.  roflmao

I am absolutely exhausted today and feeling somewhat silly. ;)

That's what running around after little ones does to you, I'm still not brave enough to take on my 4 at one go, they all run different directions at once.

The nekkid thing... I would just like to say in my defence it was very cold back then ;)

I spent the day at an elephant sanctuary (but yes, there were children involved. ;) ). Did you say FOUR?!?

cold heh?  ;)

Yes maam, four. Well, four they can pin on me.
But I think I have figured out what's causing it so that 'should' be all for now. ;)

I'm left jibbering like a mad ape after an hour of them by myself. I think women in general handle little kids far better. No matter how I try I can't make my eyes go in seperate directions at the same time.
Between you and I, I think my wife saves babysitting for dad as punishment for me when I have been bad ;)

Elephant sanctuary? wow, but I guess with kids in tow the photo opportunities have to take a back seat.

Yes maam, four. I bow down to you oh parent of FOUR. I only have 2. ;)

Elephant sanctuary? wow, but I guess with kids in tow the photo opportunities have to take a back seat.yeah, especially since I was with about 17 of them.

:D well it don't hurt me much to give birth to them, and is a lot of fun making them

If I had to do the physical birthing I would have become a nun ;) I was there for all 4, and eye, needle, camel thing comes to mind ;)

 17 kids? not on your life would I sign up for that.

Athena

lol - I wasn't the only adult there. I even managed a few pics. ;)

If I am not mistaken, being a nun would require some modifications for you...

So would being able to give birth... unless.... no no I don't even want to think about that option ;)

roflmao! do you think it would be worse than being in that serpent dragon thing was? ;)

Ouch.

I admire all mothers in the world, because of birth alone. I have been a witness to two births (well three, but my own I can barely remember, I was so busy trying to breath).

I think I am a pretty strong individual, but when the little german lady came into the room (just this last Oct) and put a needle on my wife's back, between the vertebrae, I could have died right there and then. On top of that, they had to re-do it, and I could not run away. I still cannot get over that procedure.

But women swear by it (and with it too, the whole 24 hs is pretty much uncensored), and so be it.

I stand by JCR, if I had to do it, I'd be seriously hesitating the whole birthing issue.

(I remember being newly married, and the wife -Jennifer- ranting over and over, on how she wanted 6 kids. I always thought 4 was a nice number, and from the get-go I made it clear I wanted to adopt at least one. Well, a couple of years later, after giving birth to our first son, she said "remember what I said all this time about having six kids?" yes, I said looking from the hospital bedside. "Let's have another talk soon, shall we? six may be too much". We're parked at two so far.

Oh I'm SURE it would be worse Athena *shudders
Women have my utmost respect when it comes to birthing.. sincerely.

It's quite an experience hey mj, I got called some amazing names all 4 times. Put me off sex for at least an hour after too ;)

My first one, the wife was in labour for 23 hrs, luckily I took a big coat and made a nice bed to snooze on the floor, wife was a little inconsiderate with the noise tho..
She broke the foot braces off the bed and threw an assortment of nasty looking tools at me, including the stainless steel kidney dish they were in.
Second birth I requested the removal of all and any hard or aerodynamic objects from her reach. But then she had no pain relief for any except gas (which is a blast to try Ill add)

Sorry for hijacking your thread, Athena and I were just keeping it warm until you got back. :)

OK - the laughs have been great, but that is absolutely enough talk of birthing now. I'd like to leave that in my not so distant, albeit rarely resurfaced bank of memories. :)

Sorry about the hijack MJ. J and I have been doing quite a bit of hijacking lately. So far no one's actually called us on it tho. :D Maybe we need to "get a thread".

I did not mean to interrupt, I just read about birthing theories, and I had to chime in.

please hijack away, this thread has been a welcome attention and ego boost, but the pressure really affected me as well. So I do not consider it hijacking at all, to the contrary, just chatting.

Onto another subject, do tell if you start a thread with the elephant photos !... It must be an awesome experience. It wasn't until a couple of years ago, that I saw a documentary in which one elephant out of the herd started chasing the camera crew. (Always thought them to be somewhat slow and wise animals) That would probably not be fun. It makes for a great story afterward.

 Erm.. uhh...

Maybe I was fortunate my wife has a c-section? Just sit back, relax and not pay any attention to what was going on behind the curtain.

... That was until they asked me to stand up and watch them pull the baby out.

... Then they shoved my camera at me and urged me to stand again. :-?

Yea how inconsiderate of you to get into our thread, get yer own ;)

Funny enough Athena I was thinking the same about the hijacking, Let's see, we have the trip to rome, hijacked a browser, done the meaning of life (or at least the making of) found a few elephants, fought off an entire nation of evil, took on 17 kids, and you reincarnated me at least 5 times. Not forgetting the serpent. And still had time to pose for pictures on a priceless plate, not a bad days work.
I have the title of dubiously affectionate, People are gonna talk ;)

My wife had a c-section as well when our girls were born. There were some medical concerns over her carrying twins, and they monitored her closely. Finally, one day, they said they needed to come out because her blood pressure was steadily going up. All I remember is getting a phone call at work from my mother saying "C-section, two hours." We got two beautiful little girls who just turned three.

The joke I like to tell people is that when they gave her the c-section, I saw a side of my wife that I hope never to see again - the inside!!!
