I saw this on DPREVIEW today. It is being introduced in Japan for about $270, and it has 40gb of storage. No screen, just backup. Nothing definite on distribution in the rest of the world.

I would really like to have a 40GB storage box with same LCD as in Mark II and RAW display capability.

The FlashTrax drive does this for the 10D...sort of. It, like the 10D screen is horrible in bright light and isn't as high res as the 10D one is. However, you can get a general idea if did it right or not. Now, a higher res FlashTrax drive screen and 40GB or 80GB or more of memory would really be cool!

I thought Kenny G. posted that the FlashTrax vendor has committed to provide support for the MKII RAW format - so they are halfway there.
I'm not knocking any of the existing products (especially FlashTrax, as I own one), but I think when the major players get into a game like this it raises the quality bar. I hope Canon responds.

I'll second that. Great Suggestion!

Epson has a unit that has an awesome screen on it, but it's too slow and cumbersome for pro use. I'm told they'll be coming out with some new versions. Epson has a division that makes high quality LCD's for companies all over the world.
I just don't think I could bring myself to clear a card wihtout some sort of screen that at least shows a list of the files so I could verify they made the transfer safely.

This is interesting to say the least.. I have an iPod (30 gig) and have been contemplating the attachment for that but it looks slow for upload times..
