Here is an out of focus, poorly exposed shot, but one that I liked enough to post (although it could have been much better). Does it work for you?

it's a nice pose, and as you say it's a little oof and exposure is off as a photo as it is right now, it's an almost photo, it's almost there.

Congratulations on the timing though :)

Good catch Scott. It works for me. I have these two birds here and they get along most of the time, but do argue now and then. But I've got a Dove that is the boss of both of them, of all things. :)

Actually, I like it. You have captured the moment of conflict...the motion blur adds to it.

What is a RWB?

Yes it was a RWB...in watching this feeder for a while you realize there is a real pecking order (no pun intended...but who knows perhaps thats how the phrase came into being) among birds of the same species as well as different species. For example if a young RWB is on the feeder he immediately leaves to give way to an adult male, but not necessarily an adult female. You often see two adult females feeding at the same time but never two adult males.

What is a RWB?

RWB = Red-winged Blackbird

Sugar, your whole series of the cardinal v. blackbird are fantastic! Post more such encounters if you get a chance to shoot some again.

Yes I will do my best to redeem myself and get some better quality images.
