Early morning wash, it is the first use of my new 100-400L IS
lense is heavy but ok, took a few out of focus until i realised i was moving the manual focus ring on the lense, still it is all a learning curve.
a couple more on the website (Birds)
let me know what you think.

I really like that, especially the water running off his back. I think I would prefer to see a little more water to the left of the bird since he's facing left, and since his black head and white chest draw your attention more to that side. Nice shot!

TERRY
It is a lovely shot.
Like G2JIM's garden hosing of his son, you too have stopped the water droplets and added coolness and motion. Plus I love the morning/evening light, although it is hard to beat the smooth blue surrounding Karin’s retriever.
I envy your great lens.
I have walked our water filled "Bruce Pit" on many a recent evening when the geese and ducks as well as the odd heron were on their way north. Dozens of them. But I can tell you that I never got close with the G2. Sure I have the odd shot, but zip in terms of eye-treats. So this lens ought to serve you well.

Thanks all
i am hoping that with this lense i will be able to get a few more shots that i was unable to before.
this was shot early 07.57am. just as all the swans and ducks were preening and cleaning.
as soon as they spotted me they all stopped and came over (presumably for food).
some airshows coming up soon and i hope to use the lense more.
