Right. 3rd party lenses will be made with olive oil, Canon lenses will be made with virgin olive oil and Canon L lenses will be made with extra virgin olive oil. Not only can you see the difference in the quality of images, you can taste it when you lick your lens.

this is interesting:

The lenses are arranged to prevent image distortion. But to minimize color distortion, red, green and blue images must be recorded in sequence and then combined digitally. That process would increase exposure times, admits Schreiber, "finding less distorting liquids to build the lenses out of is the answer to that problem."

I think the rebel series should be able to do that for those who can't afford super high end glass
