hey guys,

as some of you already know, i recently started doing small review of the different gear that i have in order to try to help people with their choices. now, i have a few questions for all you people that either read one of the reviews:

1) did you find the review useful or was it just another load of $%$ that you can find anywhere on the net?

2) would you be interested in reading more of them? i have a mkIII on the way as well as a new bag and a few other items and i have been debating if i should review them.

3) do you think that the format i am using now works (linking my sig to a thread) or maybe i should put them all on a website and do something similar to lightrules or even luminouslandscape (i wish)?

any feedback would be greatly appreciated...

I like your reviews - I don't think they lack anything... My only issue with them is that they make me want to buy them --- oh wait, I can't afford a 500 f/4....

thanks Scott. my idea for the reviews is not to convince people to buy the items but more to show real world strengths and weakness.

They don't come across as convincing people to buy them - but when you see all the strengths of YOU REALLY DO WANT ONE!! (That and your Osprey shots from GMOS)

I think I see what you're after, but there must be a zillion reviews of everything -- Are you trying to add to that collection or offer something more useful? Replace confusion with clarity?

Why do you not use capital letters?

Hard to read until you get used to it.

Having said that, lucid thoughts, well thought out, and surely worth continuing to contribute. My problem would be finding them.

what i am trying to do is create reviews that are focused on real life shooting and real life uses. i can find 500 reviews of the 500 f4 but only a handful of reviews actually talk about how cumbersome the lens can be and how having such a big lens with so many accessories can affect you shooting style.

as for the capital letters, if i do decide to keep doing that or to create a review site, i will go over all my previous reviews and edit them again. english is not my native language and sometimes i let myself get sloppy when writing on different boards.

as for the finding them, that is part of why i started this thread ;)

Well having spent a weekend shooting with you...........

There are alot of people on here with gear that many people never get to touch or play with. Reviews are a good thing if properly written and executed and yours seem to fall into that area. I am probably guilty of not doing that much in the way of rating my experiences with my gear. Seems that some of the review threads then just go sideways and not stay on subject.

I think that you should continue to do so and rest assured that if you are wrong (which you will be :D) we will let you know.

What else is required? I review stuff I am enthusiastic about so tend not to have many weaknesses, but if they do I say.
