Was driving home now, and 100m from my house I had to step on the break not to run over a squirrel. And it stopped. Right in the middle of the road, just looking stupidly at my car, maybe 2m in front of it. And I was like "Get going man, I'm in a hurry". Revved the engine a bit to get it moving but it stood still.. Then I suddenly realized my 10D in the backseat.. "OH NO! Stand still! DO NOT MOVE! PLEEEEEEEASE!!" So i found the 10D, pointed it, and even yet it stood still.. Then I found out the friggin lens-cap was on, and while I was removing it, the squirrel ran away :x I hate lens-capses, and will never put another one on any of my lenses :(

Another funny "coincident". I always keep the 70-200 on my cam when I just take the cam with me in car in hopes of "stumbling" upon something. Usually those things I can stumble upon on the freeway require a bit of reach. And my 70-200 _nevner_ has a lens-cap on due to the long sun-shade which works for good protection.. but today, like one out of a hundred times, it was the 50mm with lens-cap that came along.. *making personal memo: Never ever have anything but the 70-200 mounted when in the car*

I think this is some kind of rule of life. Every time you wake up and think "Hey, I could capture this moment, this squirrel, this bird!" BANG, the scene changes. I've had this with everything, including crocodiles.
I've often wondered about this. Apparently animals judge the size of another animal, and the possible threat that animal might pose, by the size of the eyes and the distance between the eyes. Up comes big camera lens, BIG EYE! Where's the other one? Time to split!
What do you think?
