But ended on a @#%tty note.
My baby I have been lusting over showed up a 9am via USPS.

And yes I went out and starting shooting ducks with it!

I also found a great place to plop my butt down after shooting because it was pretty warm today in Wisconsin!

But after all this wonderful stuff happened I was picked up for speeding a little too fast and then I was arrested because I didn't realize my license was revoked because of a $28 dollar fine I didn't know needed to be paid.
And to top it all off somehow while my vehicle was being searched buy our wonderful troopers, my Ipod somehow dissapeared!
When my fiance' and I returned to the vehicle to take it home it wasn't in the truck. And I couldn't of knocked it out because I was handcuffed in the back (puny) seat of the squad car.
IM 6'3" and those seats are made for little people!
So at least I didn't have my new lens in the car or who knows where it would be right now!
Anyway enjoy the photos as tomorrow is a whole new day!
Ross
P.S. I am not suggesting that the policeman took the IPod. I think they might of knocked it out of the truck upon doing the search.

You get handcuffed for speeding? Geeez...I'd hate to see what happens if you're driving while under the influence?
Cheer up - at least you've still got your baby. :)

Darn.... well... at least you got the lens! If you'd have just been arrested it would have been a total loss of a day...

A friend of mine got into an accident once...pretty bad. Fire trucks, ambulances, cops, a crowd. He was taken to to the hospital for precautionary measures.
During all this, one of the guy who was with the private ambulance company decided to reach into the car and grab my friend's iPod.
The cop saw he was leaning inside the car, told him he had no business near the car since my friend was already carried away in another ambulance. Then the cop started to suspect him of theft. Someone else also witness him taking "something". They found the iPod on him, arrested his sorry ass.
My friend was asked if he would like to press charges. He did...not sure the severity of the crime. He went to court. Not sure what happened after that.
Probably lost his job...and I hope he's got a permanent record.
Stealing something from a car accident victim = burn in hell!

I think it was probably the part about driving on a revoked license that brought out the bracelets.
metalman: Too bad your not from Illinois, the troopers would have just maxed out your credit card and let you go... ;)

I think the day would of been better had they screwed up by calling me Rose, and locked me up in the Womens State Jail.
I probably would still be there though and the Fiance' would not of posted bail...
I usually have a checkbook and CC's on me in my large wallet. I was delivering parts to the company I do welding for (which explains my title), and only had my "lite" wallet on me.
License, ins card, and $40 cash for gas or other stuff if needed.

Too bad about your day, but I'm sure you'll get it all straightened out. Congrats on the fine new lens, though.

Kinda sounds like what happened to Paris Hilton in her last round in court.

Not really. They only issue a warrant if you fail to appear for a scheduled court appearance. If you have a suspended or revoked license, you just can't legally drive...

Ah! Well at least you have a nice lens! And your sense of humour seems to have survived intact! Have a nice rest of the week.

Boy that sucks. Also, I can attest to the fact that it is very difficult to get nailed in Illinois for speeding. Just don’t hit the brakes or change lanes and the speed limit is nearly infinite, at least on some highways. I guess the farther from Chicago you get, the tougher those boys get. I have flown by cops at over 90 without realizing it as all my buddies on the highway with me are also going over 90. One guy hits the brakes though and the gum balls come right on. I guess the thinking is that if you hit the brakes, you knew you were guilty. ;)

Ok well back to the real topic.
How do the photos look?
Any small critique you can impliment would be appreciated.
I just love the crispness of this lens. My 70-200 2.8 might be the next thing on the selling block as Im appreciating Primes so much more now!
Oh and I finally on accident figured out how to use the pre-focus option.
I have purchased three long lenses this year (all used) and none of them came with manuals showing me how to properly use that function.
Leave it to blind, dumb, luck that while grabbing hold of the lens, I moved the ring and figured out now how to finally use the function!
