CF card error

HAve a G2, does not get much use now that I have my 10D. When I tried to use it got the CF blinking message indicating no CF card in place. Tried a different card, same result. Both worked in 10D OK. Reformated and tried again, same result
Canon site says send it in for service.
Battery was out of camera during nonuse time
Any ideas?

Before sending the cam in for service, you should try resetting the camera. To do this, remove the main battery and the backup battery (inside the main battery compartment). Leave them both out for a minute, then put them back in the camera. If you still get the same error with multiple CF cards, I'd suggest service:
