SD400 won't turn on - thoughts?

Hey all:

Newbie here, a year and a half old SD400 suddenly stopped working. Won't turn on, tried troubleshooting as per manual, tried a new battery at the local camera store...

Nuttin', honey.

Any thoughts on how to further troubleshoot? Any thoughts as to whether or not this is worth sending on to an authorized facility for repair? This is the first trouble of any kind we've had with the camera...it's been a workhorse up until now.

Just a thought - was the battery you tried at the camera store fully charged?

Thanks for the reply, yes indeed the battery at camera store was fully charged. Is there a forum/tech guide where I could look at ways of perhaps...(shudder)...opening this up? Or other things to try first...
