Hi there,

This summer we are going to the highlands of Scotland for our vacation. It's the first time and I can't wait to go! :D Of course my 10D is coming with me + flashcards, laptop, cardreaders, etc. 8)

Any people out there who have pictures of Scotland online? And maybe shot with a 10D (or 300D) so can already get some impressions? Some tips?

Don't expect a lot of sunny days in Scotland.

Friends of mine were there for two weeks, and they got some form of precipitation on every day that varied from mist to rain to freezing fog. And those were the good days. ... and the wind.

Take along some ballast bags to weigh down your tripod feet.

To get the moody shots in scotland be prepared to be out of bed before dawn, or out and about near dusk...

You're going to love it, so long as you prepare for the weather! In Scotland we regularly get all 4 seasons in the space of one hour!

Get into the highlands, stop the car, get out and listen! You should be able to hear the sound of perfect silence!

Making me homesick... (Have been in China for 3 weeks, one week to go!)

Take good waterproofs! Scotland has the wettest rain anywhere in the world :-) When the sun does come out expect lots of tiny biting insects called midges, most annoying. Wonderful scenery abounds though.
