I need a low resolution, 1-2 megapixel camera, first because for the purpose, I do not need more, and second, because of the price. I would require:
-manual focus ability
-aperture priority function
-use of AA batteries
-use of CF memory cards
-at least 1 frame every 2 seconds, or much rather 1 fps until the card is full (note: in low resolution and high jpeg compression, under 1 megapixel, so there would not be quite much data as it is taken into account in official fps estimates)

Also I have been looking at B&H stie for remote timer switches, and apparently they only sell a few for high end SLRs. So is there a remote timer for compact cameras?

P.S. If you're guessing what purpose it will be for, let me cut the chase: I want to make an interval shooting of something, then put the frames together and roll them as a videoclip.

You would want a A60. I have one and it has a time on it already. (2sec. and 10secs.) Hope that helps.

Can it shoot 1 fps?

I don't require just a timer, but sort of continuous timer, so the camera would shoot one photo every second for say, an hour.

The A60 shoots 2.6 fps with the LCD off in Large fine mode.

The A60 can do interval shots, but it needs to be connected (via USB) to a controller (lap top computer?)

The A60/A70/A75 come with the Remote Capture program that allows set up and controll of the camera even loading the images directly to the hard drive (memory card need not be in the camera for this.)

If the use of a laptop is within the realm of the project you could try this.

Unfortunately it is not. I need a camera that has such function itself, or has a possibility to connect a timer-remote control accessory.
