Me and Ed are stuck trying to think of a name! Can you help us out?

Right, imagine you see a photography company, that do weddings, portraits, events, fashion etc... and they were called:

Phat Feasant

Lucky RED

Yorkshire Pudding

Whitenese Photography

What would you think of the company, according to the name's of each of them?

I have to say, not alot to any of them. All of the name give no indication of what you do., and sound like pubs.

However, the quirkiness might give you an edge when it comes to advertising so who knows.

I'm deadly serious, Edward!

Well, we're looking for an ID at first,

So, for example:

Lucky RED Photography
Luck RED Videography
Lucky RED Corporate Media
etc...

I think your first line did it just fine....

Me & Ed Photography.

We have a very successful moving company around here that is franchised and growing. Started with a couple college students and a borrowed vehicle.....
"Two Men & a Truck"

Haha! I see those trucks all the time! I always thought it was a brilliant name for a moving company.

Correct grammar would be “Ed and I” but you could get away with:

Ed and Me

Ed & Me

Ed & I

I'll stick with my original, the bad grammar is what makes it snap.

Or you just can’t go wrong with signing your name to your company:

Jones & Smith Photographers, Ltd.

A fancy script font on a heavy cream colored card stock printed in black ink…..always a classic especially if you are dealing in high end weddings. If you really want to knock their socks off have it printed by an engraver.

Okay so how about "Two Men and a Camera...or Two" :)

As far as my comment, the thread seemed to take a silly turn right from the second post. I mean are you really considering using Phat Pheasant ? As a photography name?

And the other silly part is the marketing, you can name it virtually anything you want as long as the marketing follows and promotes the photography etc. The main thing you need to make a business work though is quality products at reasonable prices and good customer relations. A name can help but it won't make the business a success.

And yes I chose my initials because it was easy and the domains were not taken. I've recently registered another domain for my photography. Are you ready? Here's the name:

EffinPhoto.com

:)

Nothing there yet. :)

Yes, t'was Red Star parcel service I used to have collect and send electronic balances when the one needed was not in my demo stock ~ but oh boy I do recall the paperwork being a real pain.

Red Star Parcels Limited - trading as Lynx Mail - were granted a long term licence (pdf, 258KB) on 3 November 2006. This replaced their existing licence to take into account the new licensing arrangements that came into force on 1 January 2006 when the UK mail market was opened to full competition.

so you could use it ;)

Hmmm, names names name....

Don't know if it is any help, but I do my stuff under 'Just Me Photography' kinda sums it up really, and people find it funny and serious at the same time.

It depends what image you are trying to portray, and who you are marketing to. Most of the professional photogs I know either use their name, or the town/county they are living in. Dull, but it works.

Yella Fella

on a serious note, i wanted to use limited words so it can branch out as a brand name e.g. like virgin records etc... but eventually give scope to get into graphic design/videography/adverts etc. Just like to think ahead :D

First thing I would do is look at if the domains are available. I came up with a name I really liked and had to change it.
