I just got my 85 f/1.2 MK II after debating on getting the 50 f/1.2L from a pervious post and everyone convice me to get the 85 over the 50. I use to have it on my 5d when I had my 5d and the focus was a little slow. Now with my mark III it seems just right. Here are a couple of quick shots I took of my son and a bird in flight..

with the current rebate, this beast is affordable now. ~$1599. Congrat on the new lens.

Congrats again on reacquainting yourself with a great lens...:D
Still remember the first time my dealer took the lens-cap off the 85L... I looked at the lens and thought "If sex was a lens, this'd be it..."
Oh BTW, great bird shot... Mind sharing the settings you had taking that shot (if you remember)? I'm still getting the hang of AI SERVO on my Mk3. Some shots of my dogs running around are still coming out OOF. Do you use centre-point AF only? And do you tweak the Cn-Fn for Tracking Sensitivity?
Anyhow, great lens again!!!

That's gotta be the first Bird-in-flight image I've every seen with the 85L ... very impressive :) Enjoy the lens, it's pretty much unparalleled.

How fast is the focusing on the MKIII? I am considering this as my next purchase.
