for my fashion photography class, my professor wants very creative ideas for our final portfolio. he's trying to get us to think outside of the box to help us in the future when showing our work to clients other than just a book with photos in it. any ideas would help me out a TON!!! thanks - jay

infront of the pictures have cards with cut-out shapes instead of just square pictures throughout the booke

he needs more creativity than that, but thank you very much for the idea, Stav.

Use a portion of your photo as a business card, you can punch out a part of the card with info on the back. This way your clients can have a sample of your work on each card.

our tutor for graphic design suggested some good ideas...
she said that in an interview situation it can be handy to pass out separate pieces ie have stuff attached to a nice pieces of card so that if there is more than one person looking they dont have to wait for the book.
its dinky to have a theme carried through portfolios. she had a vintage suitcase where the theme was "romantic travel" the pieces were on separate boards which sat together in a cover which were tied shut with black ribbon, which were carried in the suitcase. she also made sure the typography etc were consistant thru the cv, business card and cv teaser (if you dont no what that is its a fold out card that compacts down to a business card size piece- you can hav wee examples of work on it)
it just looks more professional to be consistant.
another was photos attached to nice card then slotted into a ring binder sized pvc container which clicked shut. when she went to interviews she pulled out the different cards handed them out collected them together and stacked them back together in the box.
it was see-thru so she had cool designs showing thru the case.

theres no end to the possibilities as long as its thought thru and kept consistant.:D

I have an idea. You will need an external flash for this and the camera set to manual for a bulb exposure.

Have the camera set up looking at an open space (low light conditions are ideal for this). Have one model for this and get him/her standing on the left striking a pose and start the bulb capture. Fire the flash onto the subject and then get them to move and strike another pose, fire the flash and capture once again. Keep doing this until you have done 2/3 poses with the same model.

If done right, you should get a real sweet fashion capture.
