View Full Version : Bonus Screen Saver CD with every Picture Sold...Anyone done this before?

Hi all,

Well I'm on my way....just struck my first deal with a framing and distribution company who saw my image in the newspaper and wanted to run it as a large framed print.

Initally they wanted ownership of the image but after reading through the wonderful resource (thanks to all who contribute) I realised that would be unwise and we settled on exclusive use and reward for this project only and I still hold all the cards.

Since then the owners and I have worked together on the project with me providing advice on the photo crop and composition and them on framing, distribution and retail pricing.

Now to my question, I would like to offer a bonus screensaver CD with every print sold. My idea is that if people like the image enough to buy it then why not let them have it on the work/home PC to enjoy as well.

The cost of CD production would not be too expensive and I plan to provide a low res image to minimise printing and other uses.

What do you guys think?

The picture framing company had never heard of that (it is little old Adelaide, Australia) so that's not a complete surprise, but they did like the novelty and could help shift a few more prints and spread the word on the image.

Thanks in advance and keep shooting guys....If I can make a few bucks from photography then I assure you anyone can. :D

Cheers
Andrew

What I would rather do is when they purchase the photo they get a link to other photos and screen savers they can purchase from my website. This way you might sell more prints.

That is a excellent idea Taygull and it had crossed my mind. Problem is I don't have a website as yet but this project might fast forward my need to start one.

Thanks for the reply.
